Sarah joined Maner Costerisan in 2003. She currently serves as a principal in the firm's Accounting and Outsourced Solutions department, leads Maner Costerisan's fraud and forensics practice and Association Solutions and is the chair of Maner Costerisan's nonprofit committee. She has a passion for working with Associations to fulfill their mission and engage their potential membership base through innovative means. Sarah oversees various CFO, process improvement and risk assessment engagements and also performs examinations for various organizations to determine and document the extent of loss due to fraud.
Sarah has chaired an international conference committee to bring over 300 attendees, from 15 states and 6 countries together. She coordinated all speakers, transportation, agenda outline and conference speaking points. She also led the initiative to provide an interactive video session between US participants, China and Mexico. Sarah regularly assists with and leads board and committee coordination and facilitation as well as strategic planning sessions.
Sarah is leading our firm's initiatives in innovation and community engagement involving many internal team members as well as community leaders and stakeholders. This increased focus is an exciting representation of Maner Costerisan's concentration on its' corporate social responsibility.
Beyond her client responsibilities at Maner Costerisan, Sarah regularly shares her expertise with colleagues and peers by speaking on industry related topics including fraud (risk areas and prevention), financial oversight, board governance, ethics, strategic vision and innovation.
She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University where she received her bachelor's degree in accounting. Sarah is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Organization of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Michigan Society of Association Executives, the American Society of Association Executives, ATHENA International and the ATHENA Women's Interest Network. Sarah volunteers her time with various charitable organizations primarily focused on leadership and entrepreneurism and is the treasurer for both ATHENA International as well as McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation.
Jeff provides assurance and consulting services to Associations and nonprofit organizations. He also works with closely held and governmental entities. Jeff has worked with Associations to further state legislation and has grant management experience. He facilitates board level strategic planning, financial modeling and forecasts and provides litigation support to attorneys as well as internal control reviews. As President, he guides the firm's strategy and day-to-day operations, and works toward the overall growth and profitability of the firm. Jeff is a principal in both the Audit Department and Business Solutions and Technology Department.
A Certified Information Technology Professional, Jeff has helped clients manage their changing technology needs. Jeff has degrees in both accounting and data processing, giving him a unique perspective on providing business solutions that meet clients' needs. He is a graduate of Ferris State University and has Certificates of Educational Achievement in both Governmental Accounting and Auditing and Non-Profit Accounting and Auditing. Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Information Technology Membership Section and the Business Valuation and Forensic and Litigation Support Section. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Michigan Society of Association Executives.
With over 15 years' experience in meeting planning, Christine is responsible for the over 100 events annually; including trade shows, webinars, sponsorships, internal meetings, seminars and two major conferences. Christine's responsibilities for events include marketing and promotion of events, coordination of personnel and all aspects of the events including venue selection, contracting speakers, contracting venues, services of caterers, audiovisual companies, sponsors, and rental companies. Christine is also chair of a national conference committee for Accounting Association of Marketing; the Summit is a conference with over 400 attendees annually. With a diverse background, she has experience as a bookkeeper, administrative assistant, donation coordinator, customer service manager, and marketing specialist. Christine holds an associate degree in applied science with additional credits in accounting and marketing.
