Why did you choose a career path in public accounting?
In High School I was in charge of the Accounting for the school store, through that I learned I had a passion for business and numbers. I also did some research and learned there is a high demand for accountants because they are always going to be in need and can work in a variety of fields.
Why did you choose Maner Costerisan to intern with?
Before I applied to be an Intern I knew a few people that worked here and heard nothing but positives things about the Firm. After going through the interview process I felt like it was a perfect fit for me, everyone was very welcoming and seemed very happy to be working for Maner.
What has been your favorite thing about working at Maner Costerisan?
The people here are great, everyone is so welcoming and fun to be around. I really enjoy all the events associated with Maner such as the golf outing and softball.
What was your first day at Maner Costerisan like?
My first day everyone was very welcoming and I learned a lot of information about the firm.
What are your duties as an intern?
As an Intern I do a wide variety of things, while working on different clients. Each week I get to go out in the field and work on a different client. Out in the field one of my primary duties is to complete workpapers in the SAS 99 section. In the office I have done many different things such as Minutes and Sending out Confirmations.
What has been the most rewarding part of your internship?
The most rewarding part of my internship is being able to successfully talk to clients and complete workpapers with less and less help each time.
What advice or tips would you give to a new intern?
Do not be afraid to ask questions, everyone is very helpful and willing to work with you. Also go to the different Maner events and spend time getting to know as many people as you can.
