James Meyer
Principal, Business Solutions and Information Technology

James serves as the Director of Business Development for the firm’s Business Solutions and Technology division.  He is responsible for heading up new customer sales and marketing for the Business Solutions and Technology department. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional, Sage Intacct Partner and Microsoft Dynamics President’s Club member.

Beyond his internal duties, James serves as a trusted advisor to organizations across a variety of industries, with particular focus on associations, foundations, distributors, light manufacturers and healthcare providers.  More specifically, he consults with clients to solve business issues through strategic IT investments in accounting software (ERP) and CRM systems.  With over 25 years of experience in computer-based financial management systems, James is a nationally recognized expert on the Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) ERP solution for small and mid-size businesses.

Prior to joining Maner Costerisan, James served in a similar business development consulting role for Plante Moran’s Microsoft Business Solutions practice.  His other previous experience includes six years with Aston Group/Tectura Corporation, where his responsibilities involved heading up the Dynamics GP healthcare practice.  In 1986, James founded JFM Associates, Inc., an award-winning reseller of Great Plains and Platinum software.  He merged the company with Thomas Computer in 1993 to form the TM Group.  Under James’ leadership, in 1994, the TM Group was recognized as the Great Plains Software International Reseller of the Year.  He began his professional career in 1980.

James was inspired to pursue a career in consulting due to his natural ability to learn about different types of organizations and identify ways to help them solve problems and improve their operations.  Today he attributes his professional success to hard work and the care he maintains for his clients.

Born and raised in Freeland, Michigan, James currently resides in Ann Arbor with his wife, Dawn.  Together they have four sons.  Outside the office, James enjoys playing golf and day hiking.  He also volunteers his time delivering food to local food banks.
