It’s fitting that Allen’s favorite quote comes from the closing lines of the Robert Frost poem “The Road Not Taken” because it succinctly sums up Allen’s unbridled and adventurous spirit: “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”
Proving that even a small experience can provide lifelong inspiration, it was an opportunity to job-shadow a chief financial officer that led Jeff Allen to discover a passion that opened him up to the world of accounting. Smart, able, tenacious and hardworking, Allen is a senior manager in the audit and assurance department as well as the accounting and outsourced solutions department at Maner Costerisan Certified Public Accountants. He specializes in providing outsourced chief financial officer and controller services to business, not-for-profits and government entities, as well as providing business valuation expertise and abilities to closely held businesses looking to buy, sell or gift ownership.
Joining Maner Costerisan in January 2018 marked a return to the company for Allen. He formerly served as a senior manager from January 2006 to November 2014 after graduating from the Western Michigan University Haworth College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting. He spent three years serving as controller and assistant treasurer for the Williamston-based Centurion Medical Products Corporation before bringing his services, skills and knowledge back to Maner Costerisan to best serve the firm’s clientele.
His dedication to Maner Costerisan clients has allowed him to provide his expertise to buyers of companies as well as serve as interim chief financial officer for mid and large manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers. He has applied his experience with speaking engagements for both the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Maner Solutions Conference.
Raised in Vicksburg, Michigan, Allen credits his upbringing and the love and support of his wife, Megan, for his success. The couple live in the Grand Ledge area and have two young sons, Jonas and Evan. In his spare time, Allen enjoys backpacking and world travel, and his journeys have included whitewater rafting on the Zambezi River in Africa near Victoria Falls.
