“As I serve clients on a day-to-day basis, I strive to live by two personal philosophies. First, I constantly remind my clients of the motto ‘I stay awake so you don’t have to.’ This gives them the assurance that their information systems are always accounted for, and I am always looking out for them. The second philosophy is ‘a client is a terrible thing to waste.’ This means that I strive to never take my clients for granted while going above and beyond to deliver value to their operations.”
Joe made his home at Maner Costerisan in 2004. In his current role, he oversees the firm’s technology department, through which he manages the infrastructure of Maner Costerisan. Beyond his internal responsibilities, Joe provides clients and users with infrastructure support and services, as well as both proactive and reactive support and maintenance for clients’ issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Joe worked for six years as a computer systems analyst and help desk support for Professional Technical Development (PTD) Technology in Lansing. He began his career in the technology field in 1998.
Joe is best known, both throughout the firm and by his clients, for his natural ability to pair clients and users with ideal infrastructure solutions to meet their unique needs. In one example, he encouraged a client to migrate their information system to Microsoft’s Small Business Server (SBS) family, which brought modules in-house for increased management and performance. This successful transition has evolved into a long-term, trusting relationship between the client and Microsoft’s SBS.
In addition to guiding his clients through their technology issues, Joe regularly shares his extensive knowledge with the local business and technology communities. More specifically, he has authored numerous technology-related articles for the Greater Lansing Business Monthly Magazine. Joe has also presented on Top Technologies for the MAIA Technology Conference and on IT Risk Assessment for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Joe’s passion for technology originated in elementary school. After working feverishly to complete an assignment, he later learned that he received a zero for not turning it in. Joe voiced his concern to his teacher, and it was determined that one of his classmates used Joe’s online credentials to save his assignment as their own. This unpleasant experience intrigued Joe, and he has been hooked on technology ever since.
Joe grew up in Lansing and now resides in East Lansing. He and his wife, Lori, have two children, Jaicub and Sophia. While away from the office, Joe enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with his family.
