Healthcare Provider Relief Fund Reporting Period 1, 60-Day Grace Period

Healthcare providers have been granted a sixty-day grace period to submit their Provider Relief Fund (PRF) report on the use of funds during the reporting period that ends on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Due to the challenges providers are facing due to recent natural disasters and the continued COVID-19/Delta variant, the HHS recently announced an extension for reporting period 1. The extension is a sixty-day grace period ending on Saturday, November 30, 2021.

  • The grace period only relates to the Reporting Period 1 submission deadline. There is no change to the Period of Availability for the use of the PRF payments.
  • While you will be out of compliance if you do not submit your report by September 30, 2021, collection activities or similar enforcement actions will not be initiated during the 60-day grace period.
  • Providers who are able are strongly encouraged to complete their report in the PRF Reporting Portal by the September 30, 2021 deadline.
  • Providers should return unused funds as soon as possible after submitting their report. All unused funds must be returned no later than 30 days after the end of the grace period (December 30, 2021).
