Maner Costerisan Recognizes Leadership Growth with Manager-Level Promotions

Maner Costerisan has announced 15 manager-level promotions elevating four team members to senior manager and 11 to manager across multiple departments, underscoring the firm’s commitment to developing and advancing talent from within.

Senior Manager Promotions 

Ryan Babiak, CPA

Ryan has been promoted from manager to senior manager in the audit department. Babiak joined Maner Costerisan in 2025 and brings more than 10 years of accounting experience, primarily serving nonprofit and health care organizations. He is a regular presenter of Maner’s nonprofit webinars. A graduate of Aquinas College with a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy, he resides in Caledonia, Michigan. 

Scott Ebert, CPA

Scott, a DeWitt resident, has been promoted from manager to senior manager in the audit department. Ebert rejoined Maner Costerisan in 2025 after previously working at the firm from 2017 to 2021. He has more than eight years of experience in accounting and finance and most recently served as a senior financial analyst for a global manufacturer. At Maner, he focuses on assurance engagements in the affordable housing and education sectors. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Michigan State University. 

The senior manager promotions include the following two professionals who joined Maner Costerisan through the firm’s January 2026 merger with Baker Holtz in Grand Rapids. 

Seth Hanenburg, CPA

Seth has been promoted to senior manager in the accounting department. He brings 11 years of accounting experience. Hanenburg earned his CPA license in 2020 and holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting from Davenport University. He resides in Byron Center. 

Lauren Kurtz, CPA

Lauren has been promoted to senior manager in the tax department. She brings 10 years of tax experience, supporting clients with a wide range of tax planning and compliance needs. Kurtz is a graduate of Aquinas College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy. She resides in Rockford.

Audit Department

These team members support Maner Costerisan’s audit and assurance services, helping clients navigate evolving regulations, compliance requirements and complex financial reporting needs: 

  • Ryan Freemire, CPA, Holt resident; bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, Michigan State University in East Lansing. 
  • Kevin Jang, CPA, Kentwood resident; bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, Calvin University in Grand Rapids; master’s degree in business analytics, Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey. 
  • Tom Jury, CPA, St. Johns resident; bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, minor in business information systems, Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. 
  • Gabe Seng, CPA, CGFM®, Grand Rapids resident; bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in accountancy, both from Calvin University in Grand Rapids. 
  • Matt Spinner, CPA, Williamston resident; bachelor’s degree in history, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia; master’s degree in accounting, Michigan State University in East Lansing.

  • Ashley Ristic, CPA, Clinton Township resident; bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, Grand Valley State University in Allendale.

  • Amy Broers, CPA, Lansing resident; bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy, Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw. 
  • Hannah Knott, CPA, Wayland resident;  bachelor’s degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids. 
  • Tori Waller, NFP, St. Johns resident; bachelor’s degree in accounting and management information systems, Northwood University in Midland.
